It meets all International Security Standards currently adopted in public and private installations. The SMD 600 are particularly suitable for high security applications, such as penal institutions, where the requirement is for maximum sensitivity to all metals combined with very high immunity to electrical interference in the surrounding environment and mechanical excitation. The design characteristics of the SMD 600 also make them suitable for use in airports, ports, military installations, government offices and other locations where weapon detection coupled with a high level of discrimination in respect of metal personal effects is required.
 
The detector’s control unit is incorporated into the structure of the device, and is available in the standard (IP20) and anti-vandalism (IP55 in stainless steel) versions. Access to programming is protected by both a mechanical lock and by two alphanumeric passwords. The sensitivity of detection is independent from the speed of transit. This results in a very high flow rate of people through the gate. The SMD 600 is manufactured using the most advanced electronics technology, conforming to ISO 9001 Quality Control Standard procedures.
